HPhos president Dr. Elias Hontzopoulos, presenting the cluster at “24 hours EPIC World Photonics Tour”

June 24 2020 and the whole world had been under lock-down safety conditions. Between those past weeks, many adjusted and complemented to face-to-face events with online meetings are organized..

In addition to the 30 online technology meetings the European Photonics Industry Consortium, presented the “EPIC World Photonics Tour” ! 24 hours non-stop online conference, with 72 speakers from 35 countries across 13 timezones. The presentations are 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes discussion.

Dr. Hontzopoulos live online talk, was a complete presentation about “Hellenic Photonics cluster (HPhos) under the title “Looking to a collaborative future”.

Photonics in Greece: business challenges and opportunities

The Hellenic Photonics cluster (HPhos), organised a public event in the framework of the annual cluster members’ assembly, under the subject: “Photonics in Greece: business challenges and opportunities”.
The event was held on Tuesday, 27th March 2018, at NEW HOTEL, Athens. The aim of this event was to introduce Hphos cluster to an audience directly or potentially interested in the prospects of photonics-related activities in Greece. A roadmap towards fulfilment of HPhos strategic goals was also presented.
Moreover, the event aimed in bringing the photonics community closer to various industrial sectors, and setting up a discussion on main challenges, industry trends, industry needs on the way to industry digitalisation, financing issues, public policy on related fields (SMEs, clusters, innovation, photonics etc.).

PHOTONICS 21 BOARD OF STAKEHOLDER

The Photonics21 Board of Stakeholder online election took place from 22nd October to 5th November 2019. 224 registered voters could cast their vote for up to 21 candidates. By the closing date of the election 176 voters had cast their vote which corresponds to a turnout of voters of 78,57 %.
